To attain the finest results, the surface to be painted needs to be sound, clean, dry and free from dirt, dust or any other surface defilements.

• Remove all peeling and old, flawed paint either by sanding or with the use of a paint scraper
• Additional care should be taken during the surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces as they may contain harmful quantities of lead
• Eliminate all organic growth, such as mould, fungal, algal or lichen growths, with an antifungal mixture
• Clear any dirt, grease and dusty or powdery residues by washing the area with an appropriate detergent
• Surface defects, such as cracks and small holes, need to be be filled and sealed with an appropriate filler
• On laminated, varnished or painted flooring, sand with 240 grit to provide a key
• Wooden products that have oils/extractives require cleaning with methylated spirits and treat any knots with two coats of fresh knotting
• It is recommended to use a suitable undercoat if being applied to Oak or raw Chestnut wood to block any tannin
• If recoating an existing coating, lightly sand down with 240 grit sandpaper if the surface is in good painted condition to help the paint adhere to the surface
• If the surface is painted tiles or partially worn, use coarse sandpaper, 60 grit, then medium 120 grit sandpaper, to return to the original surface
• Wash the surface with a soda based or sugar soap (alkaline) cleaner to eradicate any remnant of previous detergents and allow to dry
• If required, rub down surfaces and then wipe off with a damp, lint-free cloth to remove dust

Always make a test area ahead of the application to judge the suitability of the product and the final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.

To faithfully sustain the colour consistency, purchase enough V33 Renovation Floor and Stairs for each project including an adequate amount for touch-in at a future date.

Do not apply when air or substrate temperatures are likely to fall below 12ºC or exceed 25ºC during the application or the drying period and avoid or block any draughts

• Locate the additive sachet under the lid and empty the contents into the paint. Stir and blend the additive with the paint for a minimum of 5 minutes, taking care to work through the edges and the bottom of the tin, providing a consistent mixture throughout the paint
• Apply V33 Renovation Floor and Stairs with a good quality pile roller (4-5mm for tiled floors or 8-12mm for wooden floors) and a round edged synthetic brush
• It is recommended to start with the edge of the room using the brush and then continue with the roller
• It is best to work in small areas using successive cross strokes with using the "wet edge" technique to ensure a consistent opacity and high quality results
• The normal finishing process requires 2 full coats of V33 Renovation Floor and Stairs, however this can vary if applied over a dark surface

Once the additive sachet has been blended into the paint, the mixture must be used within 10 days to retain optimal adhesion and performance

To clean your painted surfaces, it is recommended to use a mild detergent and a mop

Optimum performance of V33 Renovation Floor and Stairs and adhesion is achieved 20 days after the application. Treat the surface gently, avoiding direct impact, abrasion, staining or cleaning, for the first 20 days after application
