Timber surfaces to be treated with Sadolin Garden Furniture Oil must be suitably prepared, clean, sound and dry. The moisture content should not exceed 18% prior to coating.
Sadolin Garden Furniture Oil should ideally be applied on to bare timber or previously oiled surfaces.
Always do a small test area before starting any project to assess the colour and compatibility of the finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times. Sadolin Garden Furniture Oil is supplied ready for use and should not be thinned. Shake can thoroughly before use. During use the Furniture Oil should be at ambient temperatures.
Do not apply if there is a risk of rain, or when air / substrate temperatures are below 8℃ or above 25℃, or if the relative humidity is above 80% during application or drying periods. Protect from frost and rain until dry. Failure to meet these requirements may adversely affect the drying, visual quality and durability of the finish.
Remove as much product as possible from tools before cleaning. Clean brushes and equipment with a proprietary brush cleaner immediately after use. If spilled, Sadolin Garden Furniture Oil should be removed immediately while still wet, using a warm detergent solution.
After the initial treatment, a maintenance coat / treatment of Sadolin Garden Furniture Oil once or twice a year (depending on the level of exposure) or when the surface looks dull, will be required. Regular maintenance will restore the lustre and should be carried out before bare wood is exposed.
