Ronseal 10 Year Exterior Wood Paint has been specially formulated to ensure paintwork isn't spoiled due to changing weather conditions, making it perfect for outdoor projects where protection from the elements is a crucial factor.
Ensure surfaces to be painted are clean, dry and free from traces of dirt, dust, grease or any other surface contaminants.
Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product performance and end result. Follow the manufacturers instructions on the tin at all times.
Do not apply at temperatures below 10℃ or in high humidity. Ensure good ventilation. Stir Ronseal exterior gloss paint thoroughly before and during use to achieve a consistent finish.
For best results, use lighter colours in areas exposed to high levels of sunlight. The longevity of the finish will vary depending on the paint colour and the type and condition of the timber or existing paintwork. A South-facing position and the level of shade will also affect durability.
To maintain the finish if it becomes worn over time, a fresh coat of Ronseal 10 Year Weatherproof Wood Paint can be applied once annually, following the Preparation and Application instructions, paying special attention to the end grain.
Q. Can I use the Ronseal 10 year wood paint without the flexible primer and undercoat?
A. To get the 10 year guarantee, Ronseal say you must use the flexible primer and undercoat. Plus it will make the top coat more durable and it will always give you a nicer finish.
This product seems to be more of a technical coating than a simple paint. It needs a good compatible undercoat and then 3 or more thin finishing coats to get a clean finish. However, it does respond well to sanding to remove any small inter-coat runs.
Great to apply, good finish and goes along way.
You must use the undercoat. No shortcuts. Come back in 10yrs to see if it does what it says on the tin.
good product at a reasonable price, pity it's not sold in a larger volume
Like most quality weather paints these days it is a little like painting with treacle because of the thickness but goes on well and gives good coverage. Pale when first applied but darkens slightly after a few days to the colour I was expecting
needs about three coats to cover onwhite undercoat finish is very good Used to paint hardwood sill on upvc window matches very, well peple think the sill is upvc!
Goes on well looks good easy to clean brushes will now have to wait to see how long it does last
Lovely finish, easy to cast off and high opacity which covers well
This product was really easy to use, good coverage and a professional finish. Brilliant colour.
Used this to paint the trim of a playhouse, looks good and will hopefully stay nice for years to come.
great product and very efficient to buy from.
As it's 10 year paint I can't really comment for another 9 years and 11 months, but so far it looks really good!
I live by sea and liked the idea of the 10yr bit but after seeing the result on the bottom panel of the door I went out and bought an Albany gloss that covered really well with one coat.
We will appreciate hearing from you with a view to learning what it was you didn't like about this product.
Read the tin and benefit from no primer wood painting; brushes clean with water and a promised long life. I wouldn't normally use it on top of regular paints but I do use it on its own or perhaps on a well scratched surface. The paint is not at all cheap but it is very convenient.
The products were easy to apply, the brush cleaning with water was a plus and the end result was very pleasing.
One of the best outdoor wood paints I have used.
