Polyvine Hickson Decor Antislip contains special synthetic particles which produce an anti-slip finish by creating a water-repellent, textured surface. It is ideal for use on garden patios, decking, utility rooms, garden steps, jetties and swimming pools.
For the treatment of unweathered pressure preservative treated decking timbers or exterior wood flooring.
Timber surfaces to be treated should be clean, thoroughly dry and free from dust, dirt, grease, oil or any other surface contaminants.New Surfaces
Wood that is unweathered and pressure treated needs no other preparation.Weathered Surfaces
Sand down to clean, sound, treated woodPreviously painted or stained surfaces
Any old coating must be clean and in sound condition. Lightly sand to 'key' the surface.
Always do a test area before starting any project to asses product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.
Apply by brush or short haired roller only.
On grooved decking care must be taken to ensure that the coating adheres to the ridge of the timber and is not 'lost' in the groove. Roller application is recommended in this situation. Take care not to over-apply and leave thick 'pooled' layers of the coating as these may not fully cure and may result in a cloudy appearance after rain.
When required, every 1-2 years, depending on the level and nature of the traffic on the flooring. When wear through to the substrate has occurred, it is only necessary to touch up the worn area. Always remove leaves and decaying vegetation from the surface decking as soon as possible in order to retain the benefits of the Hickson Decor Antislip surface.
