Manns Trade Bar Top Lacquer

Manns Trade Bar Top Lacquer is an extremely durable, single component, polyurethane lacquer that dries to a high build, professional bar top finish. It's suitable for use on softwood and hardwood table tops, bar tops and counters. It can also be used on other wooden surfaces that demand a high degree of protection.

Ensure that bar tops and other wooden surfaces to be coated are clean, dry and free from surface dirt and debris.

1. All previous finishes should be sanded back to bare wood or stripped with a paint and varnish remover
2. Fill any gaps or splits in the wood surface with Manns Trade Mix and Fill or other suitable wood filler
3. Take care to remove all traces of sanding dust with a vacuum cleaner or by wiping down with a damp cloth

Staining

If desired, softwood bar tops and table tops can be stained with Manns Trade Light Fast Wood Stain.

Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times.

1. Stir the contents of the tin thoroughly before and periodically during application
2. If applying Manns Trade Bar Top Lacquer to dense woods such as Beech, Teak or Iroko, it is a good idea to thin the first coat with 10-15% white spirit to help the lacquer sink into the wood grain for better adhesion
3. Apply a generous coat with a good quality brush or a microfibre roller, in the direction of the wood grain
4. We recommend 3-5 coats for bar tops, de-nibbing between coats, and 2-3 coats for other wooden surfaces

Regular Cleaning

The finish should be cleaned from time to time by wiping down with a damp, lint-free cloth.

Deep Cleaning

For stubborn scuffs, marks or stains, use a dedicated, pH balanced wood surface cleaner.

Please note: Wooden surfaces, lacquered or otherwise should never be soaked with large amounts of water or cleaned with household or commercial grade detergents or cleaners as these can degrade the finish over time.
