Overview
Manns Classic Interior Primer is a water-based, opaque primer for wood and other substrates such as interior walls and ceilings. Can be used to effectively stabilise powdery surfaces prior to finishing with Manns Classic Interior Paint.
Please Note: This product is not suitable for use on floors and table tops or with the range of Manns varnishes and lacquers.

Preparation
Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust, dirt and grit prior to applying Manns Classic Interior Primer.
- Fill any gaps or minor imperfections with a suitable filler
- Lightly sand substrait to prepare the surface and to provide a key
- If required, degrease wooden surfaces by wiping with a lint-free cloth, dampened with methylated spirit
- If required, a knotting solution can be used to seal knotty or resinous timbers
Application
Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturers instructions on the tin at all times.
- Stir the contents of the tin thoroughly, before and periodically during use
- For best results, use a good quality synthetic bristle brush, microfibre roller or spray applicator
- Apply evenly and work on one manageable area at a time, working in one direction and avoiding overlapping
- Allow 2 hours to dry, then lightly denib
- Apply a 2nd coat if required then leave to fully dry for 2 hours
Typically, the white primer is used for lighter shades and the grey for darker shades. However, interesting effects can be created by a contrasting primer, especially when going for a 'shabby chic' look.
Finishing
Once dry, Manns Classic Interior Primer should be over-coated with Manns Classic Interior Paint.
