Overview

Liberon Wax Polish Paste Black Bison is a blend of waxes specially formulated to give a superb, fine finish on all interior woods, either bare or over an existing finish, including lacquers and French polishes.

Well known for its quality and distinctive, pleasant smell, it is traditionally used on antiques, but is also suitable for use on modern furniture.

Use Neutral or Clear to give a soft sheen to antique or modern sealed furniture. To enhance, enrich or darken faded wood, choose the appropriate colour. Wax Polish Paste can be used just as effectively as a finish on turned items, giving an enhanced colour and shine to sealed wood.

Preparation

Ensure that the surface to be treated is clean, dry and free from dust, dirt and any other surface contaminants.

Remove old waxes and dirt with Woodleys Wax and Polish Remover if necessary
Repairs to any holes, gaps or other surface imperfections can be made with the appropriate Liberon wood filler or touch-up product

Application

Always do a test area before starting any project, to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.

Apply Liberon Wax Polish Paste Black Bison sparingly with a lint-free cloth on a delicate / French polished surface
If a deeper penetration of wax polish is required, apply with Liberon Ultra Fine (0000) Steel Wool
Allow to dry for 20 minutes, or until touch dry, and then buff with a clean cloth or furniture brush
Apply further coats as above, wiping off any excess
It is recommended to apply a minimum of two coats on new or very dry wood
Build-up to the desired level of sheen by applying thin coats of wax, buffing between coats
For best results, buff with a suitable buffing brush, once the last coat has dried

Aftercare

Maintenance

Wipe over the surface with a lint-free cloth or duster. If the surface starts to look tired and dull, re-wax with Liberon Wax Polish Paste Black Bison as required.

Please Note: Do not wash the finished surface with water or household cleaners and detergents, as these will damage the finish.

Lovely natural colour and finish

Easy to use, but not sure it nourishes the wood, just seems to add colour, which does transform the wood especially if untreated. Strong smell and on reading the tin was disappointed that a product that is so bad for the environment and your skin is still on the market!

Kind to wood, easy to use, would certainly recommend it for anyone who cares about the woodwork they have in their home. A lot more hassle than using a spray polish but longer lasting and replenished the wood which dries out when in a centrally heated house.

Excellent finish for protecting pine dining table

I had previously used a lighter wax on a pine dining table which scratched and flaked and melted leaving cup rings etc. Liberon Black Bison is in a different league. 3 quick coats and the table looks beautiful. Itâ€™s a tough wax coat which beads water (thatâ€™s been tested already!) . Smells beautiful too. Thoroughly recommend for adding a bit of class to old furniture.

Fantastic Polish

Bison Wax is a no nonsense wax that gives a deep rich sheen. You can buff it to a high gloss if you wish but I preferred the deep luxurious sheen the polish will produce.

Exactly what I wanted
