Overview

Overview

Back

Liberon Wax and Polish Remover is a versatile surface cleaner for antique and modern wood furniture. It can also be used on other interior woodwork, including wooden doors, beams, dado rails and banisters, without harming the original finish and patina.

The unique formulation should not lift veneers or raise the grain, making it suitable for even the most delicate surfaces. Use to remove built-up layers of wax which may be causing a haze or bloom on the surface.

Please Note: This product is not suitable for use on build-ups of wax or grime on top of water-based varnishes. Do not pour into plastic containers or use on plastic or vinyl surfaces.

Application

Application

Back

Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.

  1. For best results, soak a pad of Liberon Ultra Fine (0000) Steel Wool in Liberon Wax and Polish Remover, squeeze out the excess and gently wash the surface, going with the grain where possible
  2. Allow a few minutes for the Wax and Polish Remover to work then, while the surface is still wet, use a clean lint-free cloth to wipe off all the old softened wax
  3. Repeat this process until all the old wax is removed
  4. Allow 24 hours for the treated surface to dry completely before re-finishing

Finishing

Finishing

Back

Once fully dry, the surface can be re-finished with a suitable Liberon finishing product or with a suitable product from an alternative brand.
