Blanchon Oceanic Varnish is a clear, single component, water-based polyurethane varnish, ideal for wooden flooring, parquet flooring and staircases. It utilises Blanchon's Air Protect technology, blocking 80% of formaldehyde emissions from the floor and absorbing up to 40% of formaldehyde emissions in the room, purifying the air for a healthy living environment. Provides a non-slip finish that meets the French standard EN 13036-4.
Ensure that floors to be treated are clean, dry and free from any traces of dust, dirt, detergent, grease, wax, polish or linseed oil. As a general rule, moisture content should be below 10%
To stain wooden floors and other interior wooden surfaces prior to varnishing, consider Blanchon Wood-Ageing Agent, Blanchon Waterborne Dye or an alternative water-based / solvent-based wood stain or dye.
Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times. No mixing or diluting are required.
Do not lacquer the wood floor if the temperature is below 12°C or if the relative humidity exceeds 85%. Do not use on wood with moisture content above 10%. Use only in well-ventilated areas. Keep any plants and aquariums away from the environment where the product is being applied.
Blanchon Oceanic Floor Varnish hardens very quickly, thus enabling a rapid return to use of the area. Floors can accept light foot traffic after 10 - 12 hours, but precautions should be taken during the first 10 days: It takes 8 - 10 days for the varnish to fully harden under normal conditions.
Remove dust regularly using a vacuum cleaner or a dustpan and broom. If necessary, wipe with a dampened, well-wrung lint-free cloth or mop using Blanchon Lagoon Cleaner or Blanchon Lagoon Cleaner Spray. Never use buffing machines, dust mops, silicone waxes, ammonia-based products or abrasive detergents - i.e. all materials and products likely to reduce the slip-resistance of the product or increase its shine level.
