COVID-19 Daily Update

Good news
It gives us enormous pleasure to announce that we have caught up with our back log of orders. We thank you for being so amazingly patient with us through these truly unprecedented times. It has been a time like no other.

Moving forward, goods can and are being, once again supplied within 3 working days from the date of order. Much more palatable! In addition, phones, emails, and live chats are once again being answered in a timely fashion.

To achieve this, we have unfortunately had to restrict the numbers of orders coming through our website by imposing a higher than usual minimum order value. Apologies if you have been affected by this. This situation is under constant review and we are confident that this will change for the better in the near future.

Orders that have been awaiting stock

If you are one of our customers that has been unfortunate enough to order a product that has been out of stock for many weeks, then please bear with us. We will update you on a regular basis.

There has been a national shortage for around 20 key products. In some cases, the manufacturer is experiencing so many (Covid related) delays that they are simply unable to provide us with a confirmed stock delivery date. We appreciate this is an unhelpful response, we wish we could be more informative.

Apology

We are sorry about the delays. Throughout this crisis, our aim has been to supply the self-isolated and do our bit for the UK. But, despite our best efforts, a percentage of our customer orders were sadly delayed. We promise you we did all we could to look after you but there were simply too many communication and supply issues for us to cope with. Indeed, we answered many 100’s (sometimes 1,000’s) of phone calls, emails, and live chats daily but inevitably there were many we just could not reply to in the timescales intended.

We are now approaching a level of service that our customers have known and respected for many years. We are once again ready and looking forward to answering your questions and fulfilling your orders in a timely manner.

  1. Hello
I am a customer of Peter Pownall who has built me some gates which now require colour.
He has suggested Saddling Classic however I want a product with better coverage and a smoother finish.
I have looked at Osmo Country Colour and it looks ideal however the range of colours is limited.
Can you recommend a similar product?
    Thank you
    Vivienne Carroll

    • Good Morning Vivienne,

Country Colour from Osmo is quite unique product, it is an oil that will penetrate the wood but will give a paint like, opaque finish. I am not aware of any other products that are similar to this. Because the oil penetrates the surface of the wood the texture can remain.

Whereas the Sadolin is more of a surface sealer and will begin to cover the texture of the wood and give a smoother finish. Although will allow you to still see the grain through it, as it is translucent.

It may help if you speak to one of our advisers on which may best suit your needs. You can get in touch via our contact us page or by calling us on 01303 213 838.

      Kind regards Samantha.

  2. Hi I am wondering if you could help me regarding oiling new cladding that’s fresh cut and product’s to use thanks is it ok to do straight away befor fitting and what products do you recommend thanks in advance

    • Good Morning Ross,

My apologies for the delay in getting back to you, if you can get in touch with details of the type of wood? If you have now constructed? What look you are hoping for, clear or coloured? All of these things can help me narrow down some options for you to consider. You can get in touch via our contact us page.

      Kind Regards Samantha.
