When applied with a paint brush, foam sponge or stockinette cloth, it has great flow and is perfect as a maintenance wax for French Polished or Lacquered furniture surfaces. Our Turpentine Wax polish is only made from the finest beeswax, candelilla and carnuba waxes which are then dissolved in turpentine oil. Toluene free.

Turpentine Wax has a smooth, oily-type consistency making it ideal for application with a paint brush, especially on large flat wooden surfaces. With a high wax content, turpentine polish can help give a deep lustre finish to quality pieces of furniture such as table tops.

There is no limit to the number of turpentine wax coats that can be applied, this is very much dependent on the level of finish and protection that is required. Normal recommendation would be for furniture and wooden surfaces to be re-waxed every 6-12 months although this is not essential. Additional coats of turpentine polish will offer an improved patina, pigmented waxes will give a greater depth and increased durability to your furniture.

To prolong the life and properties of the wax, it is recommended that it's stored at temperatures above 8° C and below 22° C. If kept in an airtight container, turpentine polish will last for at least 2 years and in most cases, much longer if the wax is stored correctly. If exposed to very hot or cold temperatures, the properties and consistency of the Turpentine Wax may change, this will normally return to a useable consistency albeit not quite the same as new when the turpentine wax is returned back to normal temperature conditions!

Our Turpentine Wax is normally applied with a clean cloth such as stockinette, although most cloths such as T-Shirt material will suffice. It can also be applied with grade 0000 wire wool, which is good for smoothing the surface you are working on whilst waxing it at the same time. To achieve a deep lustre, buff the waxed surface with a clean coarse cloth (stockinette). For buffing, there are brushes available which can be attached to an electric drill which save on elbow grease! We have a large range available.

All untreated surfaces need to be clean and dry. Apply sparingly, working on small areas at a time. Buff to a sheen after the recommended drying time.
