Description

Paste Wax for furniture is a quality wax polish that is our equivalent to the popular Briwax product. Made from only the finest Bees Wax mixed with Candelilla & Carnuba Waxes, our Paste Wax polish does not contain any Toluene which is a known carcinogenic that can still be found in many other wax polishes. Pasting Wax has a consistency similar to that of shoe polish making it ideal for application to furniture with a soft cloth. With the highest wax content, paste wax gives the best sheen of all our wax polishes making it ideal for large flat areas such as furniture table tops. As with many other wax products such as Briwax etc, there is no limit to the number of times that a coat of Paste Wax can be applied. As a guide, it is recommended that furniture and wood surfaces are re-waxed every 6-12 months although this is not essential. Additional coats of wax will offer an improved patina; pigmented waxes will give a greater depth and increased durability to your furniture. Our Paste Wax polish offers a great alternative to Briwax and other popular brands. When stored correctly, Paste Wax polish will keep for at least 2 years in an airtight container at temperatures ranging between 8 degrees C and a maximum of 22 degrees C, in ideal storage conditions, Pasting Wax should last much longer. If exposed to very hot or cold temperatures, the consistency of the Wax will harden or soften which in turn may affect its properties. When returned to the normal temperature range, Paste Wax will return to a usable consistency albeit not quite the same as when new! |
Application
|
Our Paste Wax is normally applied with a clean cloth such as stockinette, although most cloths such as T-Shirt material will suffice. It can also be applied with grade 0000 wire wool, which is good for smoothing the surface you are working on whilst waxing it at the same time. To achieve a deep lustre, buff the waxed surface with a clean coarse cloth (stockinette). For buffing, there are brushes available which can be attached to an electric drill which save on elbow grease! We have a large range available. All untreated surfaces need to be clean and dry. Apply sparingly, working on small areas at a time. Buff to a sheen after the recommended drying time. Drying TimeA thick coat will dry within 10 minutes and a thin coat will dry in around 5 mins. UsesGenerally a wax polish can be applied over most other finishes including water stain, solvent stain, French polish and lacquer. It can also be applied onto bare wood so that it is a finish in its own right. It will revive old or tired looking wooden areas and is suitable for all interior wood such as floors, bedroom furniture, skirting, dado etc. |
