Description

Easy wax is a quality soft wax polish made from the finest Beeswax, Carnuba Wax and Candelilla Wax. Easy wax is Toluene free and contains waxes dissolved in low aromatic solvents.

As the name suggests, this is an easy wax to apply. With the consistency of soft margarine, it is the perfect soft wax polish for use on furniture with turned or moulded areas such as chairs and table legs. It can also be applied with a paint brush. For maintaining pre-waxed wood the clear one is advisable, the coloured ones are normally used to repair fine scratches when a lighter colour is showing through or they can be used to deepen the colour of wood during the initial finishing process.

Although not essential, furniture and other wooden surfaces would normally benefit from a fresh coat of easy wax a few times a year. Additional coats of this wax offer an improved patina and overall durability. The coloured waxes offer greater depth.

Easy wax provides a quick and easy finish to revive old or tired looking wood and is suitable for all interior wooden surfaces such as flooring, bedroom furniture, skirting and dados. With a variety of colours to suit almost any job, it's easy to see why this soft wax is a popular choice with both DIY enthusiasts and professionals alike.

As with all our wood waxes, easy wax will keep for at least 2 years in an air tight container at normal room temperature. If exposed to very hot or cold temperatures, the easy wax may harden or liquify but will return to a normal, soft consistency at room temperature. For best results we recommend using easy wax from new, or if stored correctly, within 2 years.

Application

All untreated surfaces need to be clean and dry. Apply the soft easy wax sparingly, working on small areas at a time. After allowing the recommended drying time, the soft wax can be buffed to its final finish.

Easy wax itself can be applied with a clean stockinette cloth, a foam sponge, brush or fine grade steel wool (which is good for smoothing the surface you are working on whilst waxing it at the same time!)

Buffing

To achieve a deep lustre, buff the soft waxed surface with a clean stockinette cloth. Turned and moulded areas are easier to buff with a brush such as our hand buffing brushes. We also offer drill buffing brushes which can be attached to an electric drill and save on elbow grease! All of these brushes and applicators are available from our online store.

Drying Time

A thick coat of easy wax will dry within 30 minutes while a thin coat of the soft wax will dry in around 10 minutes.

Uses

Generally, Easy wax polish can be applied over most other finishes such as water stain, solvent stain, french polish and lacquer. It can also be applied onto bare wood so that it is a finish in its own right.
