Osmo Polyx Oil Tints

A coloured oil and wax combined

The Osmo Polyx Oil Tint range is formulated from 100% natural oils and waxes that help to prevent shrinkage and swelling whilst offering an extremely hard wearing finish. It is perfectly safe for use on kitchen surfaces as it does not contain biocides or preservatives and offers excellent resistance to water and drink spillages.

It is usual to use one coat of your chosen colour of Polyx Oil Tints and a single coat of the Clear Polyx Oil on top but if the colour needs to be darkened after the 1st coat has been applied then 1 more coloured coat can be applied, finished with a clear coat.

To reduce any visible damage to the colour Osmo recommend overcoating the Tints range with a single clear coat of Osmo Polyx Oil.

The white version of this product is ideal for achieving a limed or white washed effect. This is also known as a bleached effect, for a stronger bleached effect a 2nd coat of the white can be applied.

Application

Prepare and clean surface before application. Stir the Osmo Polyx oil tint to ensure even pigmentation, then apply a thin coat with a sponge, mohair roller or high-quality paint brush. Work in the direction of the wood grain and ensure any excess is removed.

Drying times

Allow 8-10 hours and provide good ventilation. Product will be 'dust dry' after 6 hours approximately. For cork surfaces the drying time can be up to 24 hours.
