Our Finishing Oil is made with a blend of the finest ingredients to create a product that is easy to apply with a paint brush, foam roller or spray gun. It offers good durability against liquid spillages and offers some heat resistance. It is also safe for use on childrens furniture and toys and can be used on all food preparation surfaces.
For use on oak, pine, ash, cherry, light oak, medium oak, dark oak, antique oak, old oak, elm, mahogany, teak, walnut, yew, iroko, cedar, beech, ebony, chestnut, maple, pitch pine, ramin, rosewood, wenge, willow and many more.
Lacquers (varnish) and paints are film forming and if damaged, or just old, can peel or flake. Finishing Oil does not form a seal on the surface, instead it penetrates deep into the surface grain, therefore keeping the wood supple and making it strong at the same time. It will continue to soak through the surface grain so future applications will be necessary which also improves the effect. The frequency of subsequent coats depends on the density of the timber although once or twice a year is a good guideline. |
