Product Description
Wood filling gel provides a quick and easy solution if you're looking for a near colour matched wood filler for a piece of furniture or hard wood flooring. For the best match, try to use the same or similar wood dust to the piece being worked on.
For the best results, mix the clear wood filler gel with fine wood dust (the finer the better) until a putty like consistency is achieved, the made up wood filler can then be kept in an air tight container for future use.
Once the made up filler has been pushed into the hole or split, most of the filler gel will evaporate leaving mainly wood dust in the repair area. To get a good level and smooth finish to your piece of furniture or hard wood flooring, the wood filler gel can be gently sanded with a fine grain sandpaper before any water or solvent based finishing materials are used. Although the wood filling gel will readily accept water and solvent based finishing products over the repair area, some users prefer to stain the made up filler before it is applied to the damaged area.
Drying Time
Our wood filling gel is a versatile product that can be used for small or relatively large repairs on hard wood floors or furniture; drying times however can vary greatly depending on the size and depth of the repair and the immediate surroundings i.e. if it's hot, cold, dry or damp. A small nail head sized hole will normally dry within around 20 minutes whilst a large hole of about the size of a one pence piece will take up to 4 hours, holes larger than a 20 pence piece that require more wood filler will need as much as a day or more to dry.
Our wood filler gel is very cost effective and a 1 litre tin goes a long way, normally enough for hundreds of pieces of furniture or wood flooring repairs depending on the number and size of the repairs.
Note
This product has a strong odour (and high VOC content), especially before it has been mixed with saw dust. Be sure to work in a well ventilated area and with the correct protective equipment.
