Peel Away 1 Paint Remover

The safe way to remove old paints and varnishes

Peelaway 1 Paint Removal System is a high pH product allowing superior penetration of older oil and lead based coatings. It is widely used by the trade as well as the marine and automobile industry.

Peel Away 1 should NOT be used to remove paint from veneers, plywoods or aluminium and may discolour certain hardwoods (such as oak and mahogany). The recommended alternative is the Peel Away 7 Paint Removal system.

• 15kg (includes 10 x 1sqm of Blanket, spatula and neutraliser)

• 150g sample (includes 1sqm of blanket, spatula and neutraliser)

Directions for using Peel Away 1

Test patches are vital. Mask off a small area and apply the paste at different thicknesses to determine which thickness is required to remove the layers of paint or varnish. Leave each test area for up to 12 hours and see how effective each has been.

Apply product with the supplied spatula or a synthetic brush. Then apply the peelaway blanket (supplied) over the paste and rub gently to ensure good adhesion and to remove any air bubbles. The blanket delays the drying process, thus allowing the paste to work more effectively. The blanket should be left at least over night or up to 48 hours depending upon the results of the test patches. (The more layers of paint, the longer the peelaway paste should be left). Once the paste has permeated all of the layers of paint the blanket can be removed with the spatula or a scraper. Peelaway 1 needs neutralising with the supplied product.

Coverage

Coverage varies depending on thickness applied but as a guideline you will need between 400gm and 1.2kg of Peelaway for each square metre that needs stripping.
