A traditional polyurethane glaze

This solvent based, glaze is made from a traditional polyurethane formula. It is easy to apply with a paint brush and can be used straight from the tin.

Tests have shown that this product offers high resistance to abrasion and wear. It is ideal for use on just about any internal wooden surface and is also suitable for bar tops.

Fiddes Clear Glaze also offers a high degree of protection and is ideal for application on to floors and working surfaces where durability and quality of finish are the primary requirements.

Description

Clear Glaze is based on white spirit and a genereous coat will dry in around 4-6 hours. It offers good high build qualities and flows well when brush applied so that brush marks quickly disappear leaving a smooth strong, wipeable surface in the sheen of your choice. Matt, satin and gloss are available.

This polyurethane sealer is ideal for tables, floors and any areas requiring good resistance to wear. It is also ideal for doors, skirting stair cases and just about any other interior wooden surface.

Preparation

Before varnishing, ensure surfaces are clean and sand the wood with a medium grit sandpaper such as 120 grit and finish with a finer sandpaper such as 220 grit sandpaper.

Fiddes Clear Glaze is ideal for applying on top of Wood Stain.

If Clear Glaze is being applied on to a dense wood such as beech, teak or iroko it is a good idea to thin the first coat with 10-15% white spirit to help allow the glaze to sink into the wood grain. It is important to stir the product well before application. 2 -3 coats are necessary.
