Primer for Pigmented Pre-cat Lacquer

Perfect base for Pigmented Lacquers

The wood you are working on will influence your colour, normally changing it by a shade or two. This can be avoided by using the Pigmented Pre-cat Primer first. It will also fill scratches and blemishes and makes sanding easier prior to applying the top coat(s). It is white which also helps give a blank sheet of canvas thus providing the correct colour match. When using a primer just 1 top coat can be applied although 2 coats is recommended. With increased penetration, this base coat sinks further into the surface grain which helps with adhesion and also helps to assist with a smoother result.

For those who do not require a perfect match it is ok to apply 2 coats directly on to the wood or 3 coats for added protection.

This product can be applied with most types of spray equipment including HVLP, airless and air assisted.

Coverage

7 square metres per litre
5lt: Enough to cover about 3 large wardrobes with 2 coats.
25lt: Enough to cover about 15 large wardrobes with 2 coats.

Drying Time

Our Pigmented Precat Primer is touch dry within 15-20 minutes. It can be sanded and recoated within 60-90mins.
