Acid-cat Lacquer

A solvent based, acid catalysed lacquer that must be used with our acid-cat-lacquer catalyst.

This is a cellulose, based product that when mixed with the catalyst (10 parts lacquer to 1 part catalyst) can be used straight from the tin. All sheen levels are available from 10% to 90%:

• 10% - Dead Matt
• 20% - Matt
• 30% - Satin
• 40% - Satin Gloss
• 50% - Off Gloss
• 70% - High Gloss
• 90% - Super Gloss

This standard Acid-catalyst lacquer is clear but we also sell a version that can be tinted to a colour of your choice (see our Pigmented version). This product is made to order so please allow 5 working days for delivery.

This product is not recommended for areas requiring a high degree of moisture and abrasion durability resistance such as kitchens and bar tops. For these applications we suggest a Polyurethane Varnish.

This product can be applied with most types of spray equipment including HVLP, airless and air assisted.

Coverage

8 square metres per litre
5lt: Enough to cover about 3 large wardrobes with 2 coats.
25lt: Enough to cover about 15 large wardrobes with 2 coats.

Drying Time

Our Acid-cat lacquer is touch dry within 10-15 minutes. It can be sanded and recoated within 60-90mins but for the purposes of packing we recommend leaving the item overnight beforehand.
