Polyurethane glue is an industrial strength adhesive with foaming properties that is perfect for filling gaps and joints in furniture and flooring. Once dry, the glue hardens enabling any excess to be easily removed with a scraper or peeled off by hand.
Suitable for interior and exterior use, polyurethane wood glue works perfectly well in damp environments or with wood that has a high moisture content. Once applied, polyurethane glue takes around 5 to 10 minutes for an initial tack time, a firm bond is usually achieved in around 4 hours with a fully hardened bond within 24 hours.
Able to bond metal to wood and water resistant, polyurethane glue is very versatile and can be used on a number internal and external surfaces including wood, cloth and leather.
In the event that the polyurethane glue comes into contact with the skin, it should be washed off immediately with warm soapy water before it has time to start bonding with anything. A side effect that is well known in the wood working and furniture industries is that if polyurethane wood glue gets on the skin, although it can be easily washed off, it has a tendency to turn the skin black at the points of contact, this may last for up to a week or possibly longer but will slowly fade and disappear.
