Our Liquid Floor Waxes can be applied with a foam roller, (we have an extendable handle available) or our Floor Applicator which can be used in conjunction with a sheep skin or synthetic head, (this product can be found in our flooring section.)
To achieve a deep lustre, buff the freshly applied wood floor polish with a clean coarse cloth (stockinette). For buffing, there are also brushes available which can be attached to an electric drill which save on elbow grease and makes the process of polishing the liquid wax floor polish much easier!
Prior to the application of the floor wax, it's important to ensure that all untreated surfaces are clean, free of dust, dirt & grit and are also dry. Apply the liquid floor polish sparingly, working on a manageable area at a time. Buff the dry floor wax to a sheen after the recommended drying time.
Container Sizes 1lt: Will cover a 2 door wardrobe or a large chest of drawers (outside surfaces only). 5lt: Will be enough for a floor about 10mtrs x 7mtrs (20ft x 20ft approx).
Coverage
Approx 12 Square metres per litre depending on the temperature, application of the liquid wax floor polish and the type of wood being worked on, these factors will also affect the overall coverage.
Uses
Generally a wax floor polish can be applied over most other finishes including water stain, solvent stain, oil, French polish and lacquer. wooden floor waxes can also be applied onto bare wood so that it is a finish in its own right. Liquid floor polishes will revive old or tired looking wooden floors and are also suitable for awkward interior wood such as stair spindles, chairs, etc.
Drying Time
A thick coat of floor waxing polish will dry within 30 minutes, a thin coat of wood floor polish will dry in around 15 mins. These times may vary slightly depending on the environmental conditions and the type of wood being waxed.
