Bona Prep

The convenient way to prepare a varnish for re-varnishing

Simply spray some Bona Prep on to your varnished floor with the 1 litre trigger spray bottle. If you are using the 5 litre container, spread a thin to medium layer on to your varnished floor and allow 20 minutes drying time before lightly buffing the floor with a buffing machine or cloth. The floor will then have optimum adhesion making it ideal for re-varnishing (or re-lacquering) with any water based, polyurethane varnish. It has been designed for use with Bona varnishes but indeed it works well with most water based polyurethane and acrylic varnishes. Test areas are recommended (for example on a scrap piece of wood).

Another popular use for this product is for preparing factory applied polyurethane varnishes on (for example) the engineered or solid wood floors that are often found in UK shops and superstores, making them ready for a re-application of a water based polyurethane varnish.

Bona Prep will increase the level of adhesion and abrasion and is very easy to use. Simply spray or roller apply the Bona Prep and give it a buff. The 1 litre bottle comes in a ready to use trigger spray container for convenience.

This product will dry within about 15-20 minutes and offers excellent coverage at 40 square metres per litre. Rollers and other tools can be cleaned in water and it has a shelf life of about 18-24 months.
