Barrettine's Log Cabin Treatment has been formulated especially for those requiring extra protection on all exterior wooden items. It is designed for use on superior wooden structures such as log cabins and summer houses although it can also be used on rougher timbers, such as woods commonly used on fences and sheds where greater protection is preferred. PreparationA coat of Barrettine Wood Preservative is recommended prior to using this product. Ensure surfaces are clean and free from algae and mildew. ApplicationThin coats are necessary, any excess oil should be wiped away with a cloth to avoid extended drying times. Some hard/oily woods such as iroko, teak, idigbo and cedar will only allow 1 or 2 thin coats of this product to be absorbed. This product works best when the wood has been sanded with a 150 grit (or close) sandpaper. If the wood is too smooth the oil cannot soak in to the wood so easily. Drying TimeThis product will normally dry within 12 to 24 hours depending on application, temperature and wood being worked on. |
