Especially designed for sanding surfaces prior to the application of wood finishes such as waxes, varnishes and lacquers, de-nibbing pads are excellent for preparing otherwise difficult to reach surfaces such as turned or shaped chair and table legs plus furniture trim and moldings.
With a specially woven structure that tends to resist clogging from wood particals, de-nibbing pads can be used dry or wet for the removal of surface impurities from wood and furniture including dirt and oxides. Denibbing pads are also often used to flatten raised grain, an after effect of an initial coating on some kinds of wood.
Sometimes referred to as synthetic steel wool, de-nibbing pads offer a cost effective alternative to other flattening mediums such as sand paper and steel wool.
De-nibbing pads are excellent for flattening wooden surfaces or furniture prior to the application of wood finishing products or paints. Because of their flexability and versatility, de-nibbing pads are now widely used by painters, decorators and craftsman and are often used in place of the more traditional sanding papers.
