Ensure that surfaces to be treated are clean, dry and free from dust, dirt, wax, grease and any other surface contaminates before applying Sikkens Rubbol XD Gloss.
All damaged or decayed timber must be removed and replaced, cutting at least 25mm into sound timber.
Always do a test area before starting any project and follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.
Do not apply if there is a risk of rain, or when air / substrate temperatures are below 5℃ or above 30℃ during application or drying periods. Protect from frost and rain until dry. Failure to meet these requirements may adversely affect the drying, visual quality and durability of the finish.
Ensure product is thoroughly stirred before and during application, otherwise sheen and colour variations may be experienced. We do not recommend thinning Rubbol XD Gloss, as excessive thinning will reduce opacity.
For further information regarding coating thicknesses, refer to the Technical Information pdf above.
The need for maintenance is indicated by a lightening in colour and reduction in sheen as the coating erodes, and a loss of water repellency. If this occurs, simply apply a fresh coat of Sikkens Rubbol XD, following the Preparation and Application instructions above.

Smooth on and excellent finish. Used to do sash windows. Hoping it stands the test of time like the other Sikkens products I've used.
Well worth the extra cost - flows smoothly and evenly from the brush, a pleasure to use. From previous experience, I know that Sikkens Rubbol provides durable, long lasting protection.
