New wood floors should be finely sanded before applying Manns Flooring Oil.
Always do a test area before starting any project to test the suitability and final finish of this product. Follow the manufacturers instructions on the tin at all times.
Stir well before use.
To maintain the surface finish and its protective properties, re-apply a fresh coat of Manns Flooring Oil, following the Preparation and Application instructions.
I'd read the reviews on this floor oil beforehand, but still didn't dare let my expectations get too high. Well I was pleasantly surprised! I was more than happy with the finished result & it went on so easy. I don't know how long the parquet flooring had been hidden under carpets, but after sanding I applied two coats & it looked gorgeous!
Very easy to use. Dried overnight. Applied two coats and buffed to soft gleam. Huge can, could do the whole house. Would be nice to have a smaller size suitable for just one room!
very easy to apply, drying time short
This needs at least 2 coats but leaves a good finish. If you use a brush make sure you wipe the excess off with a cloth. We did a big kitchen floor with 3 coats and still have at least three quarters of the tin left. Would buy again.
As other reviews - a little goes a long way - 2 generous coats on large(ish) lounge and still 1/2 tin left. Don't put too much on initially as the 'buffing' off can be hard work and make sure you have good ventilation! Difficult to avoid hand/feet marks when doing a large area but a quick 'touch-up' when dry gets rid of them - I used an old, clean floor buffer & tiny amounts of product on marks with good results.
It did darken the wood more than I would have liked but I was looking for budget finish
apart from it taking me ages to work out how to get the lid off the tin (it was really obvious) I am very pleased with this product I used a four inch brush to apply it doing two boards at a time and then wiped off the excess with a cloth when I got to the end of a run. It really brought out the grain and the natural colour in the wood, it darkens the wood when it goes on but lightens as it dries. My one issue is that I didn't need the recommended 5l, a little went a really long way and my floor looked great after one coat, I probably only used about 2l on a 20 sq m floor, I will however use it again so I've at least got plenty spare!
Hello Mr Simpson,
Thank you for your reveiw, it sounds like your floor has come up beautifully. I would advice 2 coats of this product for the best protection but if you would like to stick with just one you can do a maintenance coat when you feel it needs a bit more protection.
For the product that you have left it will keep better if you can store it in a smaller container so there is less air it should last longer. And we always like to see photos of our customers projects.
Kind regards Sam.
Great value, very good coverage and great finish. Used on freshly laid and sanded reclaimed cherry parquet, first coat started very dark but dried much paler. Second coat dried a little darker but with a nice satin to matte finish. Rather strong smell, but goes off over night. The 5l tin did 2 coats on 26m2 with about 1/3 of the tin left. Get the applicator and pad, makes a breeze of putting it down.
We just had 42 sq meters of Solid Oak flooring laid and although it was already oiled we have oiled it again and it looks great
Leading brand would have cost me 1.5 times as much! Lovely coverage, goes a long way. Make sure to remove excess if rolling, ideally use brush. Will darken wood, dries a touch lighter, wood looks alive!
The product is quite thisn which made it easy to apply. It dried patchily with one coat so I applied a second. It dried to a shiny varnished finish - not what I was expecting from something called "Oil". If you are looking for a good quality shiny varnish finish it is probably very good. I was looking for a softer matt finish that I would have expected with an oil.
Thank you for taking the time to fill in our survey and for the feedback about the finish of the product. This particular Floor Oil does have a Satin finish to it and will increase in shine with each layer of Oil that is applied.
If you feel that it is too shiny for you there is the possibility of putting a Matt finish Oil from an alternative range on top, that will reduce the shine that you currently have. You would need to do a test area first to see if the wood will take another coat of Oil and is not already saturated.
The product was great just what we wanted and the service was brilliant. We were kept informed of delivery from start to finish. Thank you.
Easy to apply and low odour. Put 2 coats on a newly laid floor over two evenings. Excellent result. Would recommend.
For the price this is a superb product. We used it to rejuvenate a parquet floor damaged by water.
Company very helpful. Quick delivery. Product cheap as compared to others on the market but just as good, in my opinion.
Finish is far better than I hoped for looked like liquid on floor......fantastic...... cant wait to apply second coat!
The best way to apply on wood floors is sparingly with a paint brush along the grain and leave to dry.
Super fast delivery, applicator easy to use, this floor oil is a great product at a fraction of the cost of B&Q and Wickes. Would definitely buy again.
A great treatment. It's easy to apply, dries quickly, and goes a long way. You should see my red oak floors. Absolutely fabulous! Hey, great price, too
The application was very straightforward and the product appears to have done a great job. I will write and tell you if it fails in about ten years or so.
