Barrettine Log Cabin Treatment is perfect for all exterior wood, including log cabins, summer houses, sheds, fences and decking. Adds additional protection to wood that has been previously pressure treated or treated with an exterior wood preservative.
Ensure surfaces to be treated are clean, dry and free from loose dirt and other surface contaminants.
Always do a small test area to confirm performance and compatibility before starting any project and follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times. Stir thoroughly prior to and during application to ensure a consistent finish.
Barrettine Log Cabin Treatment can be easily maintained with an application of a thin maintenance coat as and when required, usually every couple of years or as a yearly maintenance program, by simply following the preparation and application sections above.
Bought this to protect my 12ft x 8ft tanilised log lap shed. No need to prime with any other products, applied straight on with a brush and went on great. Have just done 1 x coat for now to protect shed and already water beads lovely. Will apply second coat when its a bit warmer. 5ltr can should be ample for 2 x coats
I purchased some expensive fence panels and did not want to paint / stain them with a colour..just protect them with a sheen...Really good, soaked in a treat..looks great.
I bought this product to protect my log cabin without painting it or changing the color too much, I paid for a wood finish and wanted to keep it, it brushes on well and for the second coat sprayed it on and brushed it through. Looks great and will do it again next year.
Good coverage.. appears to be effective. Nice clear finish..
So far, it appears to work well
with more than needed for walls inside
Used it a number of times before and found it easy to use and it lasts well. On a still day when it's warm the fumes from a large shed can be a bit heady so best done when there is a slight breeze. I found pouring from a full tin to be a bit messy as the liquid is just like water
Just used this on my new loglap summerhouse I give it 3 coats and it looks really good .I will re coat it again in the spring, it was very easy to apply and goes a long way.
I used this product on my husbands log cabin. We were keen to retain the natural colour of the wood and we were able to achieve this with this product. Brilliant coverage and very easy to apply. We will definitely purchase this product again in the future.
Service was quick - easily ordered. Product excellent -I'm so pleased with the results - should have probably treated my log cabin earlier in the year - as now cold and rainy - its a thumbs up from me.
Great product - easy to apply with a pressure spray. Completely water repellent
Used a sprayer with attached brush to put on our lodge, so easy, doesn't clog the nozzle at all. Might need a second coat.
Gave my new Garden Room and store 2coats of Barratine for log cabins, with great results. Hopefully this will prolong the life of all the woodwork.
I bought this to replace the wax based product recommended by the garage manufacturers as it appears to have suffered badly from sun damage after only a year. Had to give the timber a light rub down in order to ensure any remaining wax didn't impede the application of the log cabin treatment. This proved to be very easy to apply and although it is advertised as clear, actually gives the timber a golden hue which looks really nice. After a few heavy storms water appears to bead nicely on the surface. Unfortunately, it's too late now to comment on it's UV stability but so far so good.
Has retained the natural colour of the new timbers. Hopefully will apply 3rd coat in the spring.
Well worth paying that bit extra over some other well known brands.Paint my Workshop with it ,keeps a nice natural colour,no signs of any rot.
One side of my garden shed, which is clad with pine featherboard planks and is painted with Cuprinol Forest Green Ducksback, has been suffering from water penetration when subjected to driving rain so I have overpainted this side with the Barrrettine Log Cabin Treatment. It was easy to apply but I have yet to find out if it is successful in stopping water penetrating the planks. It needs some driving rain conditions.
The product gave me the proffessional finish I was looking for.
This product was exactly what we needed but just couldn't find in the usual diy stores. Love the natural look of the end result and does what it's supposed to do when it rains! Would probably look at spraying it on though next year when the time comes to renew as I tended to treat my arm as well on the highest points of the cabin! Apart from that we are really pleased with the entire Wood Finishes Direct experience.
